Update to Google’s Experience Algorithm

Update to Google's Experience Algorithm

You’ve probably heard of Google’s E-A-T algorithm…

If not, it just denotes competence, authority, and confidence. This is part of their method, and you may optimize for it by doing the following.

Google, on the other hand, opted to add an additional “E” to E-A-T. So it’s now E-E-A-T.

So, what is this new “E” that Google introduced?

It represents experience.

So, what’s the distinction?

You may be thinking that if you are an expert, you should have experience.

What if you aren’t an expert but have personal experience with the subject and want to contribute your insights?

It can be a little perplexing… To avoid misunderstanding, Google has kindly offered an explanation.

Google’s Experience Algorithm

As you can see, experience according to Google’s definition differs from competence.

So, why did Google Algorithm include the additional E?

That makes sense… Previously, Google only required you to demonstrate your experience, authority, and trustworthiness. However, experience is what distinguishes exceptional material.

It stands out when you incorporate your own personal learnings and demonstrate your experience inside your article.

That is what AI struggles to mimic… or, at least, for the time being.

For example, you may be aware that I have worked as a marketer for over 20 years… And if I produce marketing content, one may infer that it is more dependable than someone who is just starting out in marketing. Not just because of my time in the profession, but also because I have several awards, speak at conferences, and have published a New York Times bestseller book… and the list continues.

Even with all of that, simply writing another marketing piece does not guarantee that it will stand out or be excellent.

On the other hand, if I exhibit statistics inside my content based on my previous learnings, talk about previous experiences of what has worked and what hasn’t when it comes to marketing, and break down how marketing differs across many sectors and locations… Unless you have a lot of experience, that would be difficult.

So, how do you highlight your experience in Google Algorithm?

Consider anything unique you can contribute that others may not be aware of. That is what the public desires.

Even when you read product or company evaluations, you don’t care about the generic ones; you care about the one-of-a-kind ones that provide actual insight… ones that clearly originate from someone’s expertise in a product or service.

For example, if I were to write on how to educate your children to eat, I may stress how messy they are, especially when they are little. I also learnt how to lay a plastic tablecloth underneath the baby chair to make cleanup much easier once they are done.

If I were to write about flying around the world, I may include how you should obtain an American Express Platinum card so you can go to the Priority Pass or Amex lounges at the airport for free, which is a terrific way to relax and enjoy free food… It makes foreign travel much more comfortable, especially when flying in economy.

Consider anything you have gone through that might benefit others. When you include that into your article, it improves it significantly.

Now, my two examples above aren’t mind-blowing, but if you’re writing a blog post and include 5 or 6 items like the ones above, it will improve the quality of your piece.

Just make sure the experiences are relevant to the topic of your essay.

What effect does this have on YMYL?

When it comes to Google’s algorithm, one of the most sensitive categories is Your Money, Your Life. Google is extremely cautious about displaying anything that might harm someone unless it comes from a trusted source.

For example, if I told you how to heal a medical condition, Google would frown upon it since I am not a credible source. I’m not a doctor, I’ve never practiced medicine, and following medical advice from me might harm you.

When it comes to YMYL themes, this is how they see experience.

Conclusion

Google has stated that the most crucial aspect of its E-E-A-T google algorithm is trust. But it doesn’t imply you should ignore the other elements… Experience, in particular.

Consider this: when you read anything, don’t you like it when individuals relate their personal experiences? Hopefully, they will improve your life.

That type of material actually stands out and shines because experiences make stuff truly unique. It is something that an AI writer cannot perform (at least at the moment).
