Musk said X was contacted by the U.S. House about its Brazil actions

Elon Musk revealed that the U.S. House of Representatives has directed inquiries to social media platform X regarding its actions in Brazil, which allegedly violated Brazilian law. According to Musk, X was asked to suspend the accounts of Brazilian parliament members and journalists. The U.S. House and X have not commented further.

This development follows a probe initiated by Brazil’s Supreme Court judge Alexandre de Moraes after Musk announced plans to reactivate accounts on X despite Moraes’ orders to block them. Failure to comply could result in significant daily fines for X. The dispute arose when Musk, advocating for free speech, contested Moraes’ decision to block accounts.

Musk criticized Moraes for imposing fines, threatening arrests, and restricting X access in Brazil. Despite potential financial losses, Musk affirmed prioritizing principles over profits.
